Children

The Children’s Department is located in the original historic section of the library. It has a great selection of new and classic children’s books including the most requested series. We also have books on CD, board books and children’s magazines.

The Children’s Department Programs:
Pre-School Story Time is a weekly program for ages 3 to 5 which starts the beginning of September till the end of April. Children will enjoy stories, fingerplays, songs, and crafts.

Children’s Summer Reading program for ages 5 to 12 is offered during June and July. Reading logs are kept to encourage summer reading and weekly programs by guest storytellers provide excitement for all. At the final program prizes are awarded to the top readers.

There are special programs through the year such as “Non-Fiction Night”, Wimpy Kid programs, Holiday programs & craft and many more.
